The other day, I was having a conversation with a friend about how our upbringing and environment can sometimes shape a mindset of scarcity — especially when it comes to money.

The very next day, I was speaking with my boss, and she shared something that made me think about abundance in a completely different way. Someone had once asked her why she decided to start her own business. Her answer was: “I wanted to take my own coffee breaks.”

It was never really about coffee

It sounded funny at first. But the more I thought about it, the more I understood what she meant. It was about freedom, choice, and creating a life on her own terms.

When I told her that she had an abundance mindset, she said something that stayed with me: “The universe is vast, and there is space for every single person out there. It’s we who limit ourselves based on our environment, circumstances, and beliefs.”

From limitation to possibility

How often do we limit ourselves before we have even tried? We tell ourselves: “I don’t have enough money.” “I’m not capable of doing that.” “People like me don’t get those opportunities.” “That’s just not possible for me.”

Sometimes, the biggest limitation is not our circumstances; it is the belief that there is only a limited amount of opportunity, success, or possibility available to us.

What abundance can look like

An abundance mindset does not mean ignoring reality or believing that everything will magically work out. It means being open to possibilities. It means believing that you can learn, grow, create opportunities, and build a life that aligns with what truly matters to you.

The shift begins with how we think: from “I don’t have enough” to “What is possible?”, from “I can’t” to “How can I?”, and from limiting beliefs to possibility.

So today, I’m choosing to believe in abundance — not just financially, but in opportunities, relationships, growth, experiences, and joy.
